25 spheroid replicates per well

The Sphericalplate 5D® 96w spheroid plate generates 25 spheroids per well, in microwells, providing 200 spheroids in each removable 8-well strip (see drawings below). This special strip plate design is best for working with small amounts of patient-derived material and gives a remarkable improvement in the statistical validity of dose-response data. Thanks to the unique round-bottom microwells, cells cluster reliably into consistently sized spheroids. The plate allows for high quality imaging and easy media changes. It’s also simple to recover 25 spheroids from each well for further processing. Research-use only : ideal for boosting functional precision oncology research.

Long term spheroid culture

Long-term culture of spheroids is often necessary to study the sustained effects of treatments, resistance mechanisms, and tumor evolution. The ease of media changes with the SP5D plate ensures the spheroids remain viable and receive consistent nutrient and drug exposure over extended periods.

Immunohistochemistry

IHC is a crucial technique for analyzing the expression of specific protein markers within the tumor tissue. This allows for the assessment of drug target modulation, proliferation changes, and other treatment-related effects at a cellular level. Being able to easily retrieve all 25 spheroids from a well ensures a representative sample for analysis and helps improve the reliability of IHC results.
